Looking to get involved with the SFU Pre-Law Society?

We are looking for motivated individuals who are willing to contribute to the growth and development of our Society.  Our Executive Team strives to provide a variety of opportunities for SFU students, with the goal of enabling students with both open and demanding schedules to become part of our team.

Join a Pre-Law Committee

Volunteer Committee

Help plan and facilitate the events that Pre-Law Society hosts! Members of the volunteer committee work alongside our Executive Team to share ideas and feedback and ensure that the Pre-Law Society's events run smoothly.  This committee is ideal for individuals who want to learn more about what goes on "behind the scenes" in planning our events and enjoy working in a team environment.

Apply for an Executive Position

As an executive member of the Pre-Law Society, you are expected to fulfil the duties pertaining to your position that are outlined in the executive task list.  Our executive team works closely with one another to provide our members with valuable resources and educational events that will allow them to succeed in the Law School Application process.  Becoming an executive member is accompanied with many responsibilities making it an ideal role for outgoing, self-motivated individuals who want to contribute to the growth of the law community at SFU. 

 

Although this is a significant commitment, it comes with benefits beyond those that are received by our general members.  If you believe you'd like to become an executive member, please review the documents below and submit your manifesto to plss@sfu.ca for review.  If you have any questions about becoming an PLS executive, please contact one of our Co-Presidents.

Come to a General Meeting

If you are not sure what option(s) are suited for you, we invite you to attend one of our general meetings. This is your opportunity to meet some of the Executive Team, talk to other PLS members, and ask any questions that may have been too complicated to send over email.

Our goal is to host bi-monthly general meetings as our executive team is quite busy.  These meetings are NOT mandatory to remain a member of the PLS, but rather are an opportunity to meet likeminded individuals and discuss your expectations with the Executive Team.  

​

All details pertaining to general meetings will be posted to our Facebook page, so if you haven't already, please like our page so you can stay up-to-date with our Society.  Alternatively, you can visit our website's "Event Calendar" to see a list of all upcoming events for the semester.
